JAMMU: Contractors Association, Jammu Province, lambasted Executive Engineer Horticulture Department, Sadiq Ahmed Wani for demanding commission (bribe) from the contractor of the Horticulture Department to clear his payment against the works done by him.
While speaking to media persons, Association President, Sham Lal Jamwal alleged that when the association members had approached the XEn regarding the clearance of payment of one contractor of the Horticulture Department, the XEn instead of giving a patient hearing to the members he used abusive language and misbehaved with them.
Jamwal alleged that XEn has misused his position and allotted tenders against the norms of Model Code of Conduct even during the recently held Lok Sabha elections.
The association president demanded a vigilance probe against the official and the tenders floated by him against the norms of Model Code of Conduct.
