JAMMU: Block Congress Committee of Nanak Nagar staged protest against the non seriousness of government in increasing prices of food items.
Led by Block Congress Committee President Nanak Nagar, Parveen Singh, the protesters gathered at Nanak Nagar and raised slogans against the government.
The protesters alleged that unscheduled power cuts and water scarcity have made the life of the people miserable. Prices of the essential commodities of daily use like vegetables, pulses and food items are touching sky high and poor section of the people feels difficult to survive, they added.
Others who joined the protest include Davinder Singh Sasan, Sanjay Gupta, Bharat Bhushan, Jodh Singh Soni, Anand Kishore , Lucky Singh, Vijay Kumar, Shubash Gupta, Ajay Mahajan, Balwinder Singh (Rinku), Sanjay Gupta, Onkar Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Ashwani Sethi, Parveen Basotra, Suresh Kumar, Karnail Singh, Manjeet Singh, Amandeep Singh, Bupinder Kour, Reena, Kiran Sharma, Renu Sharma, Jaskirat Kour, Karuna, Inderjeet Kour, Kiran Verma, Ashu Mehra, Prabha Salaria, Sarla Salaria, Manjeet Kour and Arti Devi.
