Congress releases second list of 69 candidates for Jammu Kashmir Assembly polls

NEW DELHI: The Central Election Committee (CEC) of All India Congress Committee on Thursday released the second list of 69 candidates for the ensuing elections to the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. The first list issued on 29th October included 15 candidates, contesting for the first phase of elections, filing of nomination for which ended on Wednesday.

Confirming the list, Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Ravinder Sharma told state times that the list was approved by the party’s CEC in the national capital.

When asked why the list was not issued officially, Sharma said the names were finalized by the CEC after hectic discussions which continued late.
