KISHTWAR: Senior Congress leader and legislator from Inderwal G. M Saroori moved privilege motion against PDP Minister for Rural Development Department (RDD) for irregularities and violations of rules in allotting work and transferring of block officers.
In a statement, Saroori said that 20 days back he moved the motion before the Speaker Assembly Kavinder Gupta against RDD Minister Abdul Haq Khan with “evidences and facts”. “The motion was accepted by the Speaker and even the Assembly Secretary has issued summons to the minister,” Saroori said.
While revealing the contents of the motion, the MLA said that he has pointed out the irregularities in allotting work of MGNREGA, purchasing of material and plants, promoting nepotism and favouritism for PDP works, ignoring concerned MLA during visit to his constituency in Inderwal, frequent transfers of Block Development Officers among others. He also accused minister of patronising the corruption in the department added that he (Haq Khan) has failed the department.
“I have evidence and orders where the minister has transferred BDOs within a fortnight, giving choicest posting to some BDOs, making “inspectors” in charge for two to three CD blocks,” Saroori said and added that as per law, I have moved the motion and I stand by it. I will produce the evidence before the committee which the Speaker will appoint for probe,” he said.
