Conference on ‘Heritage of J&K Challenges and Prospects’ concludes

JAMMU: The two-day conference on Heritage of Jammu and Kashmir concluded here at GGM Science College on Saturday.
A galaxy of eminent academicians, researchers, intellectuals and experts from different fields related to different aspects of heritage presented their talk in the second day of the conference.
The prominent speakers who presented their research papers were Prof. B.L Bhardwaj, Former Principal, GDC Kathua, Prof. P.K Shrivastva, Department of Geology, University of Jammu, Prof. Anita Billoweria, Director Central for History and Culture of Jammu and Ladakh Region, Abhimanyu Billoweria, Director Communication County, Chairman, The Royal Trust of NLP, Dr Raj Kumar, DGM, Geologist, Dr. Rajnesh Khajuria, and Dr. Mrinalini Atrey, Law School, University of Jammu. Dr. Neeraj Sharma from Bhaderwah University Campus, Bhadarwah gave extensive and elaborate presentation on Heritage of Jammu and Kashmir and the challenges related to the conservation and preservation of the same.
Dr Ajeet Angral, Principal of the College congratulated the organising committee for the successful conduct of the programme and asked the committee members to prepare for more such events and he also said that the entire proceedings of the conference will be published in the form of a book under the editorial guidance of Prof. Shalini Rana.
Convenor of the Conference, Dr. C.K Khajuria, expressed his gratitude to all the participants for their overwhelming response.
Chief Guest, S.M Sahni, Convener INTACH, Jammu Chapter, appreciated the administration of the college for taking initiative for such result oriented conference.
Others who were present during the conference included D.N Mehta, Som Nath Sharma and Romesh Kumar Kaith. The programme was conducted by Prof. Shalini Rana while vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sukhchain Sharma.
