Conclusion of Swachhta hi Sewa Hai campaign marks Gandhi Jayanti

POUNI:  A rally under the banner Swachhta Hi Seva was flagged off by Tehsildar Pouni on the occasion of Birth Anniversary celebrations of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

Later a sanitation drive was also launched to create massive awareness among the students in particular and public at large.

Naib Tehsildar, Block Medical Officer, CDPO, ZEO, ZEPO, Principals of various schools among local Sarpanches and Panches participated in the drive and rally as well.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, a fortnight long programme on Swachhta hi Sewa Hai was culminated in Govt. Middle School Kharoti , Zone Pouni (Reasi) with the address of the  Incharge of the School, Sat Paul Puri.

Nek Ram Sharma gave special tips to the students regarding cleanliness. Shashi Bala Tr., Sushma Rani PET, Kasturi Lal Tr., Ravi Kumar Sharma and Dharm Paul Sharma Tr. and Prem Chand Numberdar also paid rich tributes to Gandhi.

DANSAL: Students and staff members of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Dansal paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his Birth Anniversary Balwan Singh, Member Secretary, Village Education Committee, Principal, Vijay Kumar and Kulbhushan Kumar, Physical Education Master spoke on the occasion.

R S Pura: On the occasion of Swachhta hi Sewa Hai Programme, a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was organised at Bal Asharam by District president BJYM Akash Chopra and his team on the direction of BJYM State president, Dr Suresh Ajay Magotra.

The programme was held in the presence of District President BJP Brijesh Rana, District General Secretary BJP Ahuty Sharma and State incharge of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Sunny Sangotra.

Convener of Abhiyan, Rinku Choudhary, Akash Chopra, District President, Vice President Jitinder Singh, Jai Bharat, Secretary Rohit Sharma, Anil Bhagat, Balbir Chib, State Executive Member Harish Sharma, Social Media Incharge Nikhil Vaid, District IT incharge Sachin Chopra, Mandal Pradhan Gourav Sharma, Amit Choudhary, City President BJYM Naveen Bharti, Mandal incharge Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Atul, District Executive Member Amit Sharma, Vikas Mahajan, Sandeep, Rishu and Sahil Gandhi were present on the occasion.

In order to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, Birth Anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri and International Day of Non Violence, a colourful programme was organised at GHS Simbal Camp. Kuldeep Gupta Master gave a brief account of the importance of the day. Ajit Kour Headmaster of the institution threw light on the sacrifices made by  Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri in getting India free.  Paramjeet Singh one of VEC members, Darshan Kour Master, Sangeeeta Sharma Tr also spoke on the occasion.

UDHAMPUR:  Students and Scouts and Guides of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School Udhampur started cleaning their classes, various areas of the school campus and their surrounding city such as Tilak Nagar, Police Station and Shradhanjali Sthal under Swachhta hi Sewa Hai campaign. Principal of the School Renu Sharma expressed her views on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti members of Private Schools Association paid rich tributes to the Father of the Nation. Ajay Gupta General Secretary J & K, PSA Jammu, Ram Parkash District President, Chain Singh, Thomas Oman ,Vaneet Gupta, Kuldeep Singh , Siddeshwar sadotra, Rakesh Gupta, Ankush Verma, Vijay Kumar were present on the occasion.

A function was also organised by Senior Congress leader and INTUC State Secretary Sumeet Magotra to pay tributes to Mahatama Gandhi on his Birth Anniversary in which Ex- MLA Chenani Assembly Constituency Krishan Chander Bhagat was present as Chief Guest.

As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan army has taken initiative to conduct cleanliness drives in their area of responsibility to ensure a healthy and clean environment.   Indian Army Battalions at Gool, Bagga, Samote, Kalal, Lam and Kalakote organised the cleanliness drive in the villages and market places in coordination with local population from  15 September 2017 to 02 October 2017.

Sky High India Social Organisation paid rich tributes to ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their Birth Anniversaries.

Aman Kalsotra prominent social activist and Director Sky High India Social Organisation along with other members paid floral tributes to Father of Nation Mahatama Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

SAMBA: District administration Samba organised a motor bike rally on Gandhi Jayanti  on the winding up of  the   Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign in district Samba. MLA Samba Dr Devender Manyal flagged off the rally from SIDCO Chowk Samba in presence of ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma and DPO Samba Aijaz Qaiser.

An awareness rally was conducted by the students and NCC cadets of Govt. Degree College Samba on Swachha Bharat Day under the slogan Swachhta hi Sewa Hai. The campaign was organised by College Administration under the supervision of Principal of the College Prof. G.S Rakwal and other faculty members including NCC caretaker Prof Ayaz Ahmed. The awareness rally started from college premises upto Samba Chowk and the cadets raised various slogans regarding the cleanliness and they also told people about the importance of cleanliness in their life.

148th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation was celebrated in Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Jakh (Samba) as International Day of non-violence. Principal Deepak  Gupta, staff and students paid tributes to Mahatama Gandhi.

KATHUA:  The Department of Youth Services and Sports Kathua, under the directions of Director General YS and S Jammu and Kashmir Sheikh Fiaz Ahmed, organised International Nonviolence Day at Dreamland Park Kathua with social groups, Morning Walker and Bar Association Kathua in which officers and officials of the department participated.

DYSSO Kathua Subash Chander Bhardwaj, Chairman Gurudwara Parvandhak Committee Kathua Charanjeet Singh, President Morning Walker’s Association Kirpal Singh, President Bar Association Tirlok Nath Gupta spoke on the occasion while ZPEO Pardeep Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Tilak Raj Sharma, Sukh Ram Sharma, Kamal Kumar, Kuldeep Singh,  Virender Singh, Baldev Singh, Ashok Kumar Magotra, Rani Andotra, Ajay Kumar, Ram Lubaya, Sanjeev Sunny, Rajinder Parshad were also present.

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jyanti, SPS Police Training School Kathua conducted Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and cleaned the whole premises of this institute. A team of officials led by SI Ajay Sharma of this institute also cleaned the District Sports Stadium Kathua.

On this occasion Ranjit Kanwar, SSP Principal PTS Kathua briefed the staff and trainees that the unclean surroundings are breeding grounds for illness and diseases. Gurmeet Singh, Dy.SP, Pardeep Singh Sen,Dy.SP, .Raghbir Singh, Dy.SP, Inspr.Sanjeev Kumar, SI Ajay Sharma, SI Kulbir Singh, SI Jagjit Singh, SI Sultan Ali, staff and trainees of SPS PTS Kathua actively participated in the campaign.

Meanwhile Swachhta Pakhwada concluded in Govt HSS Budhi which was organised by Gandhi House with collaboration of NSS Unit HSS Budhi in which different programmes were organised as per the direction of Director School Education Jammu. Principal Shakuntla Munday, S.D Singh, Rajesh Verma, D.P Angral  Ashok Kumar, Kamlesh Kumari, Veena Sharma were also present in the programme.

Govt. Degree College Boys, Kathua celebrated International Non Violence Day. The programme was organised by NSS and NCC units of the College.  Jasvinder Singh, ANO 1st J&K Naval Unit NCC, Lt. Sandeep Chaudhary ANO 1st Armed Sqn. NCC, Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Prof. Shikha, Prof. Manmohan singh( Programme Officers of NSS units)and Dr. Rachna Devi, ANO, 2nd J&K Girls Bn. of NCC were present on the occasion.

People of village Jarai and Rapar Manja under the bannership of their respective Ram Leela Clubs in collaboration with Democratic Youth Club Tarag Sanji organised Swachhta hi Sewa Hai campaign

To pay homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and second Prime Minster of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri on their Birth Anniversary Congress Party workers organised a function at Kathua.

Dozens of Congress activists under the leadership of District Congress Committee President Former MLC Subash Chander Gupta paid rich tributes to the two leaders by offering flowers to their photos.

RAJOURI: The District Police Rajouri concluded Swachhta hi Sewa Hai campaign. Police teams of District Police Rajouri  led by concerned In-Charge Police Post,  SHOs,  SDPOs and under supervision of Addl SP Nowshera, Atul Sharma and Addl SP Rajouri, Mohd Yousif under the overall supervision and instructions of Yougal Manhas, SSP Rajouri participated in the campaign.

The NSS volunteers and NCC cadets of Govt. PG College Rajouri jointly celebrated Gandhi Jyanti under the patronage and directions of the College Principal-Dr J.A Qazi and leadership of Dr. Naseem A. Malik- the NSS Programme Officer. The staff and students were present on the occasion. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Naseem Ahmed Malik and the vote of thanks was given by Abaidullah Mansoor- NSS Commander.

REASI: Swachhta Hi Sewa Hai Pakhwada, organised at Salal Power Station under the leadership of Himanshu Shekhar, General Manager, Salal Power Station concluded on Monday.  Rakesh Kumar Goyal, Chief Engineer (Civil) was the Chief Guest who inaugurated the programme. On the occasion, Ajay Shrivas, Chief Engineer (Electrical), other Senior Officers from NHPC Limited, women from NHPC family and school children  were present.

Earlier, Dr. P.L Sharma apprised the Chief Guest and others in detail about the programmes organised during ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ Pakhwada by Salal Power Station and B.B Kalyan too spoke about the need of ‘Swachhta Mission’ and government initiatives to see success of the sacred  mission prior to presentation of vote of thanks.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) conducted Swachhta Hi Sewa Hai campaign on Gandhi Jayanti in Reasi District. The campaign on cleanness drive was organised under the guidance of Associate Director Extension (ADE) and Incharge of KVKs of SKUAST-J, Dr. R.K. Arora.  Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr. Banarsi Lal at KVK campus spoke on the occasion.
