CM meeting opposition on Art 35A not a mature move: Sethi
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Recent attempts by National Conference and Congress to politicise issue of Article 35A of Constitution of India presents to total political bankruptcy of both parties and lack of understanding on Constitutional bodies. Attempt to incite people on the issue by twisting facts is unfortunate.
This was stated by Chief Spokesperson State BJP Sunil Sethi in a press statement here on Thursday. He said that the issue whether Art 35A is unconstitutional or is permissible under Constitution of India is sub-judice before Supreme Court of India and minimum which is expected from NC and Congress is to have faith in Supreme Court of India.
He said attempts of opposition to incite people in attempt to influence outcome of court proceedings is foolish move as courts are neither impressed nor affected by any such stunts rather the leaders of NC and Congress are scandalising the institution of Supreme Court of India. These parties had been in power in State and Centre for most of post-Independence period and non-regard of authority of courts by them shows their disrespect to Constitutional Institutions.
Sunil Sethi further said that Chief Minister of State moving with immature hurry in going to opposition parties on the issue and then trying to involve consensus is surprising and unfortunate as she has fell in trap of opposition and unwittingly has become party to voice against Supreme Court of India and its impartiality. He said that National Conference and Congress has with definite planning tried to give agenda to separatists and anti-nationals to vitiate atmosphere in the State and it was expected that PDP and its leadership would have seen through the game plan rather than falling in it.
Sunil Sethi also noted that Government has to look strong and not weak to be afraid of dramas of opposition which is against interest of nation. He said whatever decision will come from Supreme Court should be binding on all and anybody is free to participate in proceedings before Supreme Court of India rather than discussing in public and trying to create trouble. He said that real reason behind this move by opposition is also required to be investigated as it smacks to conspiracy otherwise there is no justification to play politics on proceedings before Supreme Court of India.
