REASI: In a major step to facilitate the pilgrims visiting the famous Shiv Khori Shrine, helicopter services are in offing soon. This was informed by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ravinder Kumar who is also the Vice Chairperson of Shiv Khori Shrine Board.
He said that the construction of helipad and allied infrastructure along with approach road is almost complete and helipad service is likely to start very soon.
Regarding the trial run conducted, he said that the chopper safely covered the distance between Katra and Shiv Khori Shrine in 12 minutes and landed at Shiv Khori helipad safely.
During the trial run, all the safety measures were taken by SSKSB, he added. Kumar also said that the final call on starting the service was likely to be taken in the upcoming board meeting.
He further, informed that the tendering process regarding the chopper services has been initiated and the whole process would be completed in short span It is pertinent to mention that helicopter service was earlier stopped due to some issues and now the board has once again shown interest in starting the chopper service, Kumar added.
