JAMMU: Chinese kite thread which was banned by the administration due to its dangerous effects had proved sweet honey for the police.
It is being sold in Jammu at Pacca Danga and its adjoining areas which are known as hub of kites and its allied items like thread, etc.
Though, police visited few shops as eyewash with harsh words warning the dealers to desist from the sale of Chinese thread. Sources said that Chinese thread is being sold openly in this area in connivance with police, which is getting share to allow the sale.
On Thursday, on the eve of Janamashtami, one will find many kites flying with Chinese thread which otherwise police officials/officers of Pacca Danga have boasted before their bosses that they have curbed the menace sincerely and strongly.
