Chinese crackers box explodes; 6 injured

KATHUA: Six persons were injured, two of them seriously, in an explosion in a cycle cart loaded with boxes of Chinese goods including crackers, toys in Kathua on Monday evening.
A blast took place apparently in a box containing Chinese crackers at Ward No 7 this evening in which six persons were injured,” Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua, Pawan Kumar Parihar said.
He said the experts of forensic science laboratory have taken up the samples from the blast site to ascertain the nature and cause of the explosion.
The police team headed by SSP Kathua Pawan Kumar Parihar reached the spot took stock of the situation and shifted two seriously injured to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for treatment, and admitted four to district hospital Kathua.
The injured have been identified as Sandeep Kumar (21), son of Kapoor Chand, resident of Channgran, Kathua referred to GMC, Jammu, Nanak Chand (54), son of Prabhu Dayal, resident of Kalashpur referred to GMC, Jammu, Naresh Kumar (14), son of Channo Ram, resident of Ward No. 6 Kathua, Manohar Lal (23), son of Uttam Chand, resident of Ward No. 6 Kathua, Rushi (21), daughter of Pawan Lal, resident of Ward No. 4 Kathua, Vandhana Devi (42), wife of Pawan Kumar resident of Ward No. 4 Kathua.
