BATOTE: On the occasion of the 125th Birthday of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru the Childrens’s Day was celebrated at the Government Middle School in collaboration with the Infrastructural Leasing and Financial Services(IL&FS)funding the Chenani-Nashri Road Tunnel.
On the occasion the students of the school besides presenting the cultural items eulogising Nehru’s love for children and his role in the development and modernisation of India also took part in some sports competitions.
The function was presided over by the In-charge Zonal Education Officer, Batote, A.R Malik in presence of the School, Headmaster, Kanwerinder Singh, IL and FS Coordinator, Gulzar Ahmed Khan, teachers and students. The best performing students were later given prizes by Malik.
UDHAMPUR: Childrens’ Day was celebrated by army, bringing cheers and joy for 130 underpriveleged children from Drona Boys Hostel, Bal Ashram, Nari Niketan and Jagriti Bal Ashram of Udhampur. Rashmi Hooda, Regional President AWWA Northern Command graced the occasion and interacted with the children at Dhruva complex. Apart from games, refreshments, a special movie show Superman (Hindi) was screened for the children at Dhruva Auditorium.
Later in the day Rashmi Hooda also visited Asha School and interacted with the special children.
Similar functions were also held at the two Sainik Institutes for the children of all ranks of all age groups of Udhampur Military Station.
AKHNOOR: Children’s Day was celebrated in Kids Planet Public School Akhnoor with great pomp and show. The Primary Wing of Kids Planet organised fancy dress competition.
Sham Lal Sharma Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood control was the Chief Guest whereas Director of School Mohan Lal Gupta, Chairperson Rohit Gupta were present as Special Guests. Principal Mona Gupta presented the welcome address. The dignitaries who witnessed the occasion were Vice Principal Rita Manhas, Coordinator Ekta Vaid, Arti Nagpal, Nitash Langer and Madhu Mishra.
KATHUA : The Kartar Public School Barnoti on Friday celebrated the Children’s Day and paid tributes to the first Prime Minister of India Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. The students, staff and management organised an event in which number of activities including skipping , frog race, tug of war , long jump, skating, two leg race and musical chair were conducted.
Earlier Er. Nirmaljit Singh Amn, Chairman Kartar Education Trust Barnoti, while interacting with the students said that 14th of November, is being celebrated as Children’s Day on the Birthday of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru whom children affectionately call as ‘Chacha Nehru’.
Manjula Dogra, Principle KPS also threw light on the importance of the day.
Those who excelled in the sports event include – Aratrika, Akshit , Menakshi , Ramneet , Gourav, Priya , Shivansh, Chitresh , Yogesh and Udhay Punia.
DODA: The Children’s Day was celebrated in Government Higher Secondary School Malothi (Bhadarwah).
On the occasion the students and staff members threw light on the profile of first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. The Principal Ravi Koul presided over the function.
The programme was anchored by the Staff Secretary Omkar Singh.
Meanwhile, to celebrate Birth Anniversary of First Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, a function organised at Govt. Hr. Sec. School Kathera ( Kathua) in which students of various classes performed cultural programme and spoke on the life history of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru.
Satish Chandel Sr. Lect. Physics who organised and compared the whole function and Sohan Lal Lect. English also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the teachings of Pt. Nehru. At the end Dev Raj Principal of the School encourage the students and appreciated their efforts and talents.
