Chenab valley observes Complete shutdown against killing of civilians in Kashmir 2 STATE TIMES NEWS
BHADARWAH: A complete but peaceful Bandh was observed in whole Chenab Valley against killing of civilians in Kashmir Valley.
The shops and other business establishments of particular community remained completely closed at all the major towns of District Doda including Bhadarwah, Doda Thathri, Gath and Gandoh. However, traffic plied on the roads normally. Govt offices and banks also remained open.
The Bandh call against the coalition Govt for their alleged atrocities in Kashmir Valley against civilians during last three days was given by Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah, Anjuman Islamia Gandoh ,Masjid Committee Kishtwar and Masjid Committee Thathri.
At Bhadarwah, a complete shutdown was observed by the members of particular community in protest against the recent civilian killings in Kashmir and alleged false propaganda against religious preacher Dr Zakir Naik.
“We have appealed for peaceful bandh today against the security forces and coalition Govt for killing and torturing the innocent civilians in Kashmir during last couple of days,” said Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah President Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh.
“Our Bandh call is also to show our resentment and to lodge a strong protest against the Union Govt, communal forces and biased media for leveling false allegations and communally motivated propaganda against Islamic preacher Dr Zakir Naik,” he added. Meanwhile, besides complete shutdown, people of Doda and Bhatyas also participated in the peaceful rally which passed through their main markets raising slogans against coalition Govt. As precautionary major, extra security deployment was made in all major parts of Chenab Valley but Bandh passed off peacefully and no untoward incident was reported from anywhere.
