Chenab Open J&K UT Taekwondo Championship 2024 concludes

DODA: Hosts district Doda lifted the overall title trophy of the two-day Chenab Open J&K UT Taekwondo Championships, which was organized by J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) and J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
The runners-up trophy went to district Udhampur while third place went to district Jammu.
The active participation award shared by district Pulwama and district Srinagar.
The best sportsman sprit trophy awarded to district Kathua.
The participants contested in various weight groups of PeeWee, Sub Junior, Cadet, Junior and Senior categories.
The event held under ‘My Youth My Pride’ initiative of the J&K Sports Council (JKCA) involving around 300 players from different districts of J&K, a handout issued here claimed.
In the closing function, Mohd Rizwan Wani, Principal Iqra International School Doda was chief guest, who presented medals and certificates amidst congratulatory message to the participants, coaches and parents.
Dr Mubashir Gazi Mintoo, Masood Zargar (AEE, PWD), Brinder Singh Manhas, Amir Sofi were guests of honour.
Rameez Malik, represented JKSC in the event.
The event took place under the guidance of Rajesh Pangotra, president JKTA and Junaid Ali Khan, president Taekwondo Association of district Doda.
The technical penal, led by Burhan ud Din Khan, comprised Vinod Kumar, Shanaz Parveen, Suhail Ahmad Khan, Dushyant Kapta, Shah Faisal, Humara Manzoor, Tajamul Gani, Sumit Kumar, Rakesh Singh, Suresh Singh, Sidharth Sharma, Zain Nazir and Sonam Chospal.
The organising committee comprised Faisal Tanvir, Tayab Hamza, Kashif Iqbal and Umar Iqbal.
