JAMMU: The Executive Committee of Channi Himmat Residents Association held meeting under the chairmanship of its President Advocate V.K. Grover in which the issue of construction of Flyover from Kunjwani to Narwal Chowk was discussed.
The members expressed deep anguish over the plan of the National Authority of India to construct this portion of Flyover by raising walls in the middle of Bye-Pass, filling the same with concrete material and later construct roads over this walled portion.
This shall completely hide the view of this beautiful colony and other adjoining colonies apart from concealing and hiding the view of business and commercial establishments located on both sides of proposed walled structures, they said. The members were highly agitated over the impending congestion of roads on both sides.
Grover asserted that the residents of this so-called beautiful colony were already suffering from acute congestion and traffic rush from Railway Station to Channi Himmat in peak hours of the day.
Moreover, the members expressed the view that business of the commercial establishments in these areas is sure to adversely affect due to lack of Parking Space in the area. The government is advised and requested to construct this Flyover from Kunjwani to Narwal on the concrete pillars and not on walls as proposed.
