JAMMU: The Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI) has strongly condemned the brutal rape and murder of a female trainee doctor at a hospital in Kolkata. During a recent meeting, President Arun Gupta called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident and demanded stringent punishment for those responsible. Arun Gupta expressed deep outrage over the horrific crime, describing it as a disturbing reminder of the rising violence against women. He emphasized the urgent need for a thorough and fair probe and called for severe penalties for the perpetrators to ensure justice is served.
The Chamber also highlighted the necessity for enhanced safety measures to protect women, particularly in their workplaces. Gupta stressed the importance of creating secure environments for female professionals to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
In addition, the Chamber expressed its full support for the doctors and paramedical staff who are currently protesting peacefully to demand justice for the victim. The Chamber stands in solidarity with the medical community in their efforts to seek accountability and reform. The meeting conveyed profound grief over the tragic event, which has significantly impacted both the local community and the broader medical profession.
