Camp for fresh climbers begins

JAMMU: National Youth Day, the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, the maker of modern India, was celebrated today by Mountaineering Association of J and K (MAJK) in a different manner at Sprawling Buds School, Chinore, here.
Reiterating the mission of the association to win National Sport Climbing Championship, General Secretary of MAJK, Ram Khajuria announced different activities.
To begin with, as a part of efforts of the association to achieve the target, Khajuria inaugurated a week- long Sport Climbing Coaching Camp which, he disclosed, shall be conducted for fresh climbers only.
“To give exposure at the highest level and to boost the confidence and morale of the climbers the association shall also depute suitable climbers for coaching and practice on international standard climbing walls in the country,” he announced.
Emphasising the value of dedication and hard work to achieve the aim of winning National Champio-nship he quoted the inspiring words of Swami Vivekananda and asked the children to “Awake, Arise and Stop Not Till the Goal is Achieved”. He also exhorted them to follow the ideas and ideals of Swami Vivekananda who always believed in youth power to lead and nourish the great culture of our country.
Director, Sprawling Buds School, Rahul Sharma promised all possible help and cooperation to the association to achieve its aim of winning National Championship this year.
Prominent persons present on the occasion were Secretary, Tawi Trekkers J and K, Shawetica Khajuria, Satish Bhan and trainer of the climbers, Shashi Kant.
