Besides cable operators, Nodal Officer (DAS) who is also District Information Officer Ramban, Tanveer ul Majid was present in the meeting.
DDC discussed in detail the digitization process with all the participants. It was informed that the first milestone in the journey of this digitisation for the cable operators shall be to acquire registration as MSO from Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Govt of India by the end of February 2015, since the district is a far flung district and is terrestrially dislocated from other adjoining districts of the state. Cable operators were directed that the preparations with regard to migration from analog to digital mode shall be reviewed in a time bound manner.
The cable operators informed the meeting that they have procured some of the equipments and are in the process of acquiring further within two months so that the target is achieved well before 31st of Dec 2015.
For mass awareness about the programme, DDC told that the District Information Officer Ramban in coordination with other departments and cable operators shall organise awareness events at all the municipalities of the district so that common public can be motivated to shift to digital mode.
