JAMMU: In a public interest litigation filed by Ravinder Shan and other regarding irregularities committed in the implementation of National Saffron Mission and alleged huge amount have been misappropriated.
A Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice M.M Kumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan after hearing Advocate Rajeshwari Katoch observed the matter pertains to National Mission on Saffron implementation Jammu Division during 2012-13 and according to the allegations made on behalf of farmers in the area of Kishtwar, there are gross irregularities committed in the implementation of the programme and huge amount is alleged to have been misappropriated, as result the benefit has not reached the farmers for whom it was meant.
The Bench issued notices to Saffron Development Officer of District Kishtwar, Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar and District Development Commissioner Kishtwar and directed them to file reply before next date of hearing. JNF
