‘BSc Nursing selection being done through competitive process’

JAMMU: The state government on Monday said the selection for BSc Nursing Course is being done through written test, while the candidates for paramedical training courses are being nominated as per the norms.
Minister for Health and Medical Education Bali Bhagat said this, while responding a question raised by Jugal Kishore Sharma in the Upper House.
The Minister said the candidates for FMPHW, Medical Assistant, Lab Assistant, Dental Assistant, X-Ray Assistant, Ophthalmic Assistant, Anesthesia, ECG Tech, GNM and Sanitary Inspector streams are being nominated as per the guidelines issued by the Government from time to time. The nominations for paramedical courses for the current year have not been issued by the department till date, he added.
Meanwhile, the Minister further informed that the government is in the process of procuring 136 ambulances for meeting the requirement in the field.
He further said, “These ambulances are being purchased against the funds provided by Central Government under National Highway Accidental Relief Services Scheme (NHARSS).”
While responding to a question raised by MLA, Dina Nath Bhagat, the Minister said two ambulances, one each at PHC Latti and PHC Ghordi, are working in the area. However, recommendation for replacement of the ambulance at PHC Ghordi has been received which is under consideration. Efforts are also being made for replacement of second ambulance off road presently at PHC Latti and make it functional, he added.
Giving details regarding availability of doctors at PHCs in Chenani, the Minister informed that there are 44 sanctioned posts of regular doctors and 12 posts of NRM doctors out of which 19 regular doctors and 7 NRM doctors are in position in the constituency.
