JAMMU: Former MLC Vikramaditya Singh on Wednesday lauded the Border Roads Organization (BRO) for accomplishing a feat that many considered impossible, constructing a road to the sacred Amarnath Shrine.
In a statement issued today, Vikramaditya Singh expressed deep concern about the potential environmental damage that could be caused to the fragile ecosystem of the region as a result of increased vehicular traffic ferrying devotees to the holy Cave Shrine.
He cautioned that the increased influx of pilgrims could lead to pollution, littering, and other disruptions to the delicate environment.
