KK Hockey Club, Stadium XI register wins

POONCH: Amidst the fervour of the ongoing Border Battle Hockey Cup 2024, Brig Mudit Mahajan, Cdr 93 Inf Bde alongwith Taizeem Akhter DDC, Chairperson inaugurated the girls section matches in an impressive, colourful and well attended Opening Ceremony, here on Friday.
A good number of civil officials of Government agencies and the members of civil society also attended the event.
The Hockey Cup is being welcomed by the locals as the event is harbouring young talent of the town and the clash of sticks resulting in spirit of Hockey.
A total of eight teams in boys category and six teams in girls category are taking part in the mega event.
In the first match of girls category, KK Hockey Club Jammu beat Poonch XI by six goals to nil (6-0), while in the second match, Stadium XI Jammu defeated Srinagar XI by eight goals to nil (8-0).
In the boys section, Poonch XI beat Sujanpur Hockey Club by four goals to two (4-2), while in another match, HFB NCR Sonipat Hockey Club blanked Bandurakh Hockey Club by five goals to nil (5-0). The matches were officiated by a panel of technical experts including Narjeet Singh, Narinder Singh, Vijay Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Jagjeet Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Sunil Raina, Harmik Singh, Rajinder Singh, Gurdev Singh, Navjot Singh, Ruchika Sharma, Ritika Sharma and Mohd Shokat.
