JAMMU: A person was arrested and 23 pouches of illicit liquor was recovered from his possession in the Jammu city, a police officer said on Thursday.
The accused, Vishal Kaith, son of Joginder Kumar, resident of Krishna Nagar, Jammu, driving an Auto bearing registration number JK02AP-1982, was intercepted at a Naka laid by police party of Police Station Nowabad, police said adding that during his search, 23 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered at Jewal Chowk area here, he said.
The accused was immediately arrested and case FIR No. 120/2016 under section 48-A Excise Act was registered against him and further investigation has been started, police said.
