BMO held for illegal appointments

SRINAGAR: The Vigilance Organisation Kashmir on Thursday arrested Abdul Rashid Dar, the then BMO Kulgam and Mohammad Ashraf Parray the then Senior Assistant /Cashier BMO Office Kulgam in a case of illegal appointments.
The duo were arrested in a case vide FIR No 29/2012 lodged in Police Station VOK under Section 5(1) d, 5(2) of J and K P.C Act Samvat 2006 and Sections 467, 468 and 471 read with 120-B RPC into the allegations of illegal and unauthorised appointment of Class 4th employees and Junior Assistants at various Medical Blocks of District Anantnag and Kulgam. During the course of investigation, it was revealed that Dr. Abdul Rashid Dar, BMO Kulgam and other officers/officials of Health Department in District Anantnag and Kulgam have entered into a criminal conspiracy among themselves and with the beneficiaries during the period 2003 to 2010.
The accused public servants fraudulently and by abusing their respective official positions allowed 22 private persons to join in the Health Department in different blocks on basis of fake and fabricated appointment/transfer orders and thereby extending undue benefit to private persons causing wrongful corresponding loss to the State exchequer.
