Jammu: A blast shook the Hiranagar area in Kathua district on Wednesday evening, forcing the security establishment to launch a massive search operation.
Sources said that a big-bang was heard near Border Police Post Sanyal at International border in the jurisdiction of Police Station Hiranagar, after which police and other security forces rushed to the spot. Entire area was cordoned off and search operation was launched. “The nature of the blast is mysterious as of now. We are ascertaining it,” they said.
Following the incident, top officials, including the SSP, reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
“Reportedly a blast has been heard near Border Police Post Sanyal near IB in the jurisdiction of Police Station Hiranagar” confirmed the ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh. “Exact nature of the blast can be known once investigations are completed,” he said.
