BJP team takes stock of post flood situation, relief rehabilitation
AKHNOOR: BJP State President and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, along with National Executive Member Shamsher Singh Manhas, State Vice-President Col. Uttam Singh, State Spokesperson Farooq Khan, Distt. President Daljit Singh and over a dozen other leaders, visited flood affected areas of Akhnoor, Jourian and Khour for personal review of the post flood situation and enquired about the relief and rehabilitation measures taken so far by the local administration. They also visited the villages situated on the banks of river Chenab, where agricultural land too has been washed away.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while extending party’s full sympathies to the affected families, said that the natural calamity has caused immense damages and destruction. People have suffered losses to their houses, crops, livestock. Road connectivity has suffered, bridges got washed away and there is immediate need of taking the rehabilitation on war footing. He said that while the Narendra Modi Government has flown quick relief and assured of every needed help for the rehabilitation of the affected families, the people have anger and resentment against the local administration for not doing enough in distributing relief and reaching the genuinely affected families for their rehabilitation. He assured them that being elected representative, he will take up their grievances with the concerned authorities and ensure that no one is deprived of relief and each affected family is rehabilitated.
