BJP not serious on refugee issues: Madan

AKHNOOR: Congress leader and former Minister, Madan Lal Sharma said that BJP Government at the Centre is not serious on resolving the long pending issues of refugees.
By returning the State Government’s proposal they have made their intention clear, he said.
While supporting the citizenship status to West Pak refugees, Sharma said that the State Coalition partner was not in favour of that and said that if Congress led Government is formed in Jammu and Kashmir they will grant State Subjects to them.
Madan Lal was addressing a series of public meetings at Malley, Jadh Sardara, Peeri and Tarai in Akhnoor Assembly Constituency, today.
Criticizing the Centre’s decision of returning package for other categories of refugees and other displaced persons, Madan said that not grant of citizenship to West Pak refugees is not the pretext of denying package to other categories of refugees.
He demanded early roll back of Centre’s decision and demanded a full-fledged package for refugees.
Ex-MP said that during his tenure as Minister of State he had ensured equal allocation of funds to Jammu and Kashmir region.
He appealed to the people to vote for Sham Lal Sharma and send him in the State Cabinet to complete the pending works.
He also said that Sham Lal Sharma has not only worked at Panchayat Level but brought State level institutions and infrastructure to Akhnoor.
He further said that we work without any discrimination of religion or caste and support all people living in Akhnoor for the overall benefit of the people.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion include Mangu Ram Sharma, President Brahman Sabha , Sarpanch Kali Dass, Bodh Raj, Gulu Ram, Krishan Lal, Sham Lal, Kasturi Lal, Sardar Chand and Sai Dass.
