BISHNAH: Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) has questioned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its double standards over dialogue on Kashmir situation and asked it to clarify whether it stands for talks with Hurriyat as advocated by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who has also sought apology from the separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
Addressing a public meeting at Bishnah on Tuesday, Pranav Shagotra President PYC, asked BJP and its ministers not to befool the public by the double standard.
He said that the most unfortunate is the surrender of BJP and its leaders especially ministers for the sake of power and said that PDP-BJP are two faces of same coin.
He questioned, the silence of coalition partner BJP, over the public statement of PDP spokesperson to the Hurriyat leadership to give another chance to Mehbooba Mufti treating her as his daughter.
The convention was organised by Assembly Youth Congress Committee led by Vijay Tagotra, Assembly President Bishnah. Terming PDP-BJP coalition regime, especially BJP ministers, as non performing liability, Shagotra exhorted party cadre to reach out to the people to solve their day today problems and expose the double standard of BJP in the State. “Performance of BJP ministers appears only on papers because the they are more particular about issuing press statements and conducting photo sessions to befool the people rather than taking effective steps on ground,” PYC president observed. On the one hand Kashmir Valley is witnessing unrest for the last 52 days, while on the other, BJP ministers, who represent Jammu region, have miserably failed to connect themselves with the common masses. Pointing towards rampant corruption in the State, PYC president said that instead of taking some effective steps to control corruption in the administration this regime has legalised corruption through its actions.
PYC President was accompanied by Rajvir Singh, PYC General Secretary, Balbir Singh PYC Secretary, Chetan Wanchoo PYC Spokesperson, Charanjeet Cheeku LYC President, Arun Deonia, Ramnik Singh, , LYC Secretaries Vijay Tagotra, Nimrandeep Singh AYC Presidents, Balwant Singh, Prem Nath, , Divansh Jamwal and Sarvotam.
