R S PURA: MLA R S Pura Constituency Dr. Gagan Bhagat said that BJP Government at Centre and in State has taken many initiatives for the welfare of common masses.
While addressing a press conference here on Friday, Gagan highlighted various fronts of developmental works of government aimed for the betterment of general public.
Regarding issues of residents of border area he said that , “as soon as the BJP Govt. came in power it silenced the unprovoked firing done by the neighboring country due to which people who were residing near the International Border were facing tough times but the free hand given by the Govt. to the border protecting forces a suitable, tough and quick answer was given to them by our forces which led to complete cessation of such unprovoked firing. The next best thing done was creation of community bunkers. the BADP fund which was used for irrelevant purposes till now was used in creation of community bunkers and in the training of border youths under the skill development programme of the Prime Minister which benefited the border people.
He further said that Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna (PAY),Housing For All (HFA) was a big change in the history for providing shelter to the poor and to the downtrodden sections of the society whether it was a person residing in village or to the urban poor. Survey was carried out at Municipal Committee R S Pura and a camp was also held at Devi Dwara R.S Pura in which the team apprised the locals that now dream for their home was not far away and R S Pura was among the 25 towns which was selected in the HFA Scheme , the only town from District Jammu. He said that pension benefits were enhanced to Rs.1,000 from the existing Rs.200 and it was never done in the last 20-30 years.
“Roads were widely improved under the town and city plans as several roads of R S Pura Constituency were in worst condition for the past several years” he said adding that several transformers were upgraded at Rattian, Salehar, Kothey Salehar, Gandli, Prem Nagar, Banota, Dhindey Kalan, and several new Electric Sub Stations were created at R S Pura. He also highlighted various other initiatives taken by the government.
Mandal Pradhan Natharam, Ashok Salaria,Ramesh Kumar, Hardev Singh, Abhishek Gupta and others were present on the occasion.
