STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Chairman and former Minister, Harsh Dev Singh has expressed grave concern over the latest reported decision of US Govt. to grant a fresh lot of $ 532 million aid to Pakistan under Kerry-Lugar Bill after lauding its “Counter-terrorism initiatives”.
He regretted that the reported announcement of financial aid made by US Secretary of State John Kerry has not been proactively opposed by the NDA government despite such funding having been used by Pakistan in the past for promoting terror on Indian soil.
He said that Pakistan’s misadventures and its wicked credentials including ceasefire violations, border incursions, pushing in of indoctrinated traitors, Porbander ship episode besides its support and shelter to several terrorist outfits needs to be viewed seriously and taken up vociferously and vigorously with the international community especially the US.
Expressing grave concern over the persistent heavy firing and mortar shelling from across the border by Pakistan during the last nine months has virtually created a war like situation which could lead to a dangerous denouement and should be a eye-opener for the BJP led government at the Centre.
He said that the world community must be apprised of the piquant situation on the Indian borders where more than 15000 families all along the192 km IB have been disturbed and uprooted. He said that not only that the ferocity of ceasefire violations has increased during the last couple of days after Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind Mumbai Mayhem was spotted near the borders and was reported to be in touch with Pak rangers.
He said that the presence of Hafiz Saeed amply proved that terrorists and Pak forces are working in tandem for ensuring passage of militants to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir. He said there were inputs that more than more than 2000 militants had been brought on the launch pads and Pak forces were trying to assist them to cross over the Indian side for raising the level of violence ahead of US President Barack Obama’s visit to India. He said that there were further reports from the borders that regular forces have replaced the Rangers across the IB.
He regretted that issue was not being taken with required seriousness thus aggravating the woes of border people besides creating a highly explosive situation on LOC and IB. He accused the BJP led govt. of having failed in convincing US about the wicked designs of Pakistan.
Strongly flaying the American move of giving clean chit to Pakistan and for reviving its eligibility for US aid, Harsh Dev Singh called upon the Union Govt. to launch a full throttle campaign against the Pak sponsored terrorism and resist all US moves of providing it any financial aid in the name of ‘Counter-terrorism’.
He further called upon the NDA Govt. to persuade US to mount pressure on Pakistan to break the nexus between the Army and the extremists so that Arms training camps were dismantled and Pakistan soil was not used for exporting terror to India.
