JAMMU: All India Anti-Terrorist Front Chairman M.S Bitta on Wednesday asked Central Government to frame uniform policy for compensation of martyred soldier i.e. Rs 1 crores compensation with a government job to his next kin and kith.
Bitta was addressing a press conference here on Wednesday after visiting the residence of martyred soldier Gurnam Singh, who sacrificed his life for the cause of nation while fighting with Pakistan.
“The government should give Rs 1 crore and jobs to family of soldiers dying for nation,” said Bitta.

He also paid homage to the martyred Gurnam Singh.
Bitta said that people lived in constant fear and were vulnerable in such a dangerous situation when the neighbouring enemy resorted to heavy shelling at unexpected hours.
He stressed that such sinister and offensive attacks by Pakistan in which innocent civilian were being killed cannot be ignored for long and reiterated that even continuous skirmishes along the border between Indian and Pakistani army cannot solve the problems and a great human and political effort is needed.
He added that though the BSF had destroyed about 14 posts manned by Pakistani Rangers along the international borders in Ramgarh and Arnia sectors of Jammu but this proxy war will go on and on unless a concrete action is not taken to discourage Pakistan. The AIATF chief said that the shelling is influenced by the terror groups and Pakistan’s army is working in nexus with them.
He said that if Pakistan had been too serious about curbing terrorism then it wouldn’t have let terrorists like Hafiz threaten to carry out more attacks on Indian Soil to avenge the surgical strikes by Indian army. The AIATF chief said that Pakistan is miffed by the action taken by the Indian army by conducting the surgical strike on terror camps being operated in Pakistan-occupied- Kashmir.
He concluded by saying that Kashmir is an integral part of India and its people must be protected from enemy’s scourge; their lives must be protected and given a sense of security.
