Bhim Singh tours borders, assesses situation

R S PURA: Founder and Chief Patron of J&K National Panthers Party, Prof. Bhim Singh with his senior party leaders toured International Border on Indo-Pak borders along Jammu-R.S Pura-Suchetgarh border to assess the present situation in the border areas where thousands of residents (citizens of India) have been forced out of their homes. Schools have remained non-functional and the school going children have not been given any concession like Kashmiri students in the Valley so that they could also appear in the school exams in Jammu Pradesh.
Prof. Bhim Singh was accompanied among others by General Secretary JKNPP, Anita Thakur, Vice President Panthers Trade Union, Shyam Gorka, Sarpanch Rathana, Kulbir Choudhary and several other senior activists.
Prof. Bhim Singh with his team visited several villages along International Border where people have suffered heavily. The team also visited the residents of BSF Jawan namely Gurnam Singh who was martyred by Pakistan firing on 22nd October, 2016 in R S Pura Sector.
Prof. Bhim Singh also announced a contribution of Rs.50,000 for the Memorial Statue of the martyred BSF Jawan, Gurnam Singh. A committee of the local Panchayat of the martyred Jawan was also constituted. The local Sarpanch Kulbir Choudhary was appointed as President of Committee with five other people. The committee shall raise a statue in honour of Shahid Gurnam Singh.
The team also visited Pindi Katthar on the border where three local people were injured by shelling from Pakistan. Sudesh Sharma who was an active volunteer in 2002 for the rehabilitation of the routed people was appointed as District Secretary-Women Wing of Jammu Rural District who shall coordinate for the rehabilitation scheme of the border migrants.
