REASI: Sham Lal Bhagat, MLC on Saturday conducted extensive tour of flood affected areas of Reasi and Talwara to take stock of the damages caused due to heavy rains and floods and assured people of all possible help.
During his visit, Bhagat also interacted with the affected people and expressed his deep sympathies for the losses suffered by the people of the area.
He further asked district administration to make immediate assessment of losses suffered due to heavy rain and floods so that relief may be provided to the sufferers at an earliest and also passed direction to expedite the rescue
operations. He also appealed to the Central Government to provide necessary help to the people of the State.
He was accompanied by SDM and Tehsildar of the area.
Meanwhile Senior BJP Leader Dr. Gagan Bhagat toured several villages of R.S Pura Constituency and met the victims of the recent flash floods. The villagers told Bhagat that no one from the administration came to them for any type of help and if some officials visited some villages they too have done the survey in a very partial way, as the people who were close to Sarpanchs and Panchs were directly included in the list of the flash flood affected persons while other people who were really the sufferers were left out.
Dr.Gagan Bhagat assured the annoyed villagers that he will put the issue in the knowledge of higher administration and the survey will be conducted once again in an impartial way. The people of villages Dravtey, Lothey Chohala, Khamb, Khalis Kullian , Baggamarh, Tanda, Jindlehar, Chakl Aslam, Rangpur Sadhrey, Chak Mohd. Yaar and Chak Bhaktawar thanked Dr. Gagan Bhagat for the efforts. Others who accompanied include, Harbhajan Singh, Inder Sudan, Shiv Bali, Aakash Chopra, Surjeet Kumar, Avtar Singh and other BJP workers.
