SRINAGAR: In the second leg of its ongoing district level activities, the District Winter Games Association of Baramulla organised Ski Championships at Gulmarg here. The championship is being held under the auspices of Winter Games Association of J and K (WGAJK) and sponsored by J and K State Sports Council.
On the opening day, the competition was held in Alpine Ski and Snowboarding in different age groups. Nearly 55 skiers and snowboarders took part in day-long competition. The competition held in Giant Slalom in Senior, Junior II, Junior I and Children II categories.
Earlier, the championship was inaugurated by General Secretary of the Association, Muhammad Yusuf.

Alpine Senior Men: Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, Ist; Irshad Ahmad, 2nd and Fayaz Ahmad, 3rd. Alpine Boys Junior II: Jehangir Ahmad Gaanai, Ist; Waseem Ahmad Bhat, 2nd and Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, 3rd. Alpine Boys Junior I: Mudasir Ahmad War, Ist; Amir Bin Rsahim, 2nd and Irfan Ahmad Sheikh, 3rd. Junior Girls: Sabiya Nabi, Ist; Zainab Rashid, 2nd and Shabista Shabir, 3rd.
Snowboarding Giant Slalom Senior Men: Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, Ist; Zahoor Ahmad, 2nd and Firdous Ahmad Sheikh, 3rd. Junior: Mehraj ud Din Khan, Ist; Faisal Farooq, 2nd and Zubair Ahmad Lone, 3rd. Consolation prizes: Ayan Tariq Zargar, Zamin Rashid and Shoaib Malik.
