SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat, on Monday paid a surprise visit to the Maternity Home and General OPD Sanat Nagar, Srinagar and took stock of its functioning. Taking serious note of non-performance of different sections of the hospital, the minister seized the record of the Maternity Home and directed for appropriate action to be taken against non-performing medicos and para-medicos. The minister also ordered immediate reshuffle of hospital staff to make the Maternity Home and General OPD fully functional. He also directed that all facilities at the hospital should be utilized at their optimum so that entire area gets benefit and load on LD Hospital is reduced. He said that any health institution found defunct or lacking facilities anywhere would be made fully functional in the shortest possible time across the State.
