Dear Editor,
‘Bharat Ratna’ is the highest civilian award conferred in recognition of exceptional service/performance. Since 1954, the award has been bestowed on 43 individuals, including 11 posthumously. Bal-Pal-Lal (Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal and Lala Lajpat Rai), a triumvirate of nationalists in British-ruled India, too deserve to be considered for the award by the government.
