Bail denied in rape case

JAMMU: Fast Track Court rejected the bail application of one Ravi Kumar Dhar, son of Kanaya Lal Dhar, resident of House No. 83/A, Govind Nagar, Munshi Chak, Jammu who was allegedly involved in rape case. According to the police case, on 28th December, 2014 prosecutrix had met accused Ravi Kumar Dhar at Gandhi Nagar, Hospital, who in order to satisfy his physical lust started seducing the prosecutrix by expressing his love towards her saying that he was in deep love with her and wants to marry her.
On 6th of January 2015, he took the prosecutrix to Mahamaya Temple and after visiting the temple, took her to an abandoned building in a nearby park and raped her against her consent. He had threatened the victim that she should not disclose it to anyone and he will marry her. Thereafter the accused raped the victim number of times with plea that he will marry her, however, the accused after satisfying his lust has refused to marry the prosecutrix and subsequently a case vide FIR No. 62/2015 for offence under section 376 RPC was registered.
Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Kishore Kumar after hearing both the sides observed that crime of rape is not only a crime against a person/or woman which it is a crime against the whole society. With these observations Court rejected the bail application.
