Jammu: Democratic Azad Party (DAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday announced names of several office bearers including the head of party’s Jammu women wing, a party spokesman said.
Azad appointed Prabha Salathia as the president of Jammu province women wing of the party and said the members of the committee will be chosen later, the spokesman said.
He said Bashir Aarif has been appointed as the secretary to the chairman, while five prominent leaders Ashok Sharma, Naresh Gupta, Ghulam Haider Malik, Subhash Gupta and Dr. Amar Chand Bhagat were named as Vice Presidents of the Jammu province party along with Advocate Maheswar Singh, Narender Sharma, Shyam Lal Bhagat, Brij Mohan Sharma, Ch. Abdul Latif, Pritam Kotwal, Choudhary Farooq Ahmed Shikari and Subhash Bhagat as General Secretaries as general secretaries and Jai Singh, Advocate Rajinder Sharma, Farooq Choudhary, Gurmit Kaur, Sunita Arora, Choudhary Ishaq, Rajni Sharma, Santosh Manhas and Swarna as Secretaries.
“More names of office bearers and members of the executive committee will be announced later,” the spokesman said.
Azad also announced five zonal presidents with Gulzar Ahmed Wani for South Kashmir Zone, Peer Bilal for Central Kashmir Zone, Chaudhary Gharu Ram for Central Jammu Zone, Prithviraj Manhas for Chenab Valley Zone, and Advocate Zahid Malik for Pir Panjal Zone besides 13 district presidents including Ayub Takur as district president for Pulwama, Mushtaq Ahmed Khandey for Shopian, Mir Muneer for Kupwara, Shoib Lone for Baramulla, Vinod Sharma for Jammu Urban, Ashwani Khajuria for Udhampur, Sushil Sharma for Rajouri, Brijeshwar Singh Bindoo for Kathua, Asif Jehan Gattu for Doda, Shabbir Ahmed Lone for Kishtwar, Surinder Singh for Reasi Rural, Rattan Singh (as Working President) for district Reasi Rural, and Bishan Mangotra as district president for district Reasi Urban.
“The remaining districts and committees will be announced soon,” the spokesman said.
