ATM helped police locate 3 missing boys

JAMMU: Three students of class 9, who went missing from Residency Road four days ago, have been recovered from Dehradun on Saturday evening.
City SP Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan said, the three students, identified as Mashqoor Ahmed, son of Abdul Hamid, employee of PHE; Asif Mehroof Kohli, son of Mehroof Ahmed and Arush Singh, son of Khushi Ram, all studying in Tiny Tots School, Dalpatian Mohalla, had boarded a train from Jammu for Delhi.
Their parents lodged a missing report with the Jammu City Police. During the preliminary inquiry, it was ascertained that Arush was beaten up by his father, who insisted his friends to accompany him to flee out of Jammu.
Mashqoor Ahmed, whose father is working with the PHE Department, stole the ATM card of his father and the trio boarded a train to Delhi. After staying two days in the national capital , they reached Dehradun, informed SP Chouhan.
Police located them by tracking ATM withdrawals. “Yesterday, there was no balance in the account so we deposited Rs 500 twice in the day to ascertain their location,” informed the SP, adding the boys used the ATM at Dehradun last night, which helped to ascertain their location. A team was immediately dispatched from Jammu to apprehend them. Dehradun police was also sounded. Today evening, the boys were taken into custody and are being brought to Jammu.
