Arya Pratinidhi Sabha distributes relief material
RAJOURI: Criticising the State Government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for its failure to expedite the distribution of relief and rehabilitation materials among the people who were badly affected due to recent floods which engulfed both Jammu and Kashmir regions of the State, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) State Vice President Vibodh Gupta on Wednesday welcomed the members of the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha (APS) in Rajouri for distributing relief materials among the victims of the natural calamity.
Vibodh asked the administration of twin border districts— Rajouri and Poonch to accelerate the relief process so that the people who were affected in the floods can be compensated at the earliest so that they would be able to live their routine life.
He also appreciated the role being played by many Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) at this time of crises. “NGOs are playing a major role in providing relief to the needy peoples and government is walking at a snail’s pace”, Gupta said while welcoming the members of APS who distribute relief materials among the sufferers.
Speaking on the occasion, APS President Arun Choudhary said that the Sabha has provided relief materials, which include solar lights, tents, Kambals, ration, sweaters etc, among the members of about 100 families who were identified as most severely affected due to recent rains and floods.
He also informed that the APS is committed for the social cause and is always standing with the society in the need of hour.
District President APS Atam Gupta also addressed the gathering and appreciated the timely action of AYS in providing relief material to the victims of floods and rain.
