Arrangements for ensuing festival season discussed

SAMBA: The arrangements for the ensuing festival season including Navratras, Amawas, Ramnavami and Dussehra were discussed here on Thursday at a meeting of District Officers with Deputy Commissioner Mubarak Singh, in the chair.
It was informed that besides Navratras starting from 25th Sept, a large number of public shall also be visiting Utterbehani and Purmandal on Amawas.
The representatives of various religious oragnisations, viz Mahant Narsingh Dev Mandir, Dussehra Committee participated in the meeting and put forth their viewpoints regarding arrangements of drinking water, power, water, sanitation and security arrangements during the Navratra festivals.
The meeting discussed in detail the necessary arrangements of security, traffic regulation, provision for drinking Water and power supply, checking of overcharging and controlling the prices of commodities and quality of food items sanitation, first aid and deployment of fire tenders etc for the smooth conduct of the festivals.
The DC enjoined upon the concerned departments to put in place adequate medical facilities, proper security and traffic regulation arrangements. He also stressed to make provisions for additional transport for the convenience of the people during the festival days.
After having detailed discussion, the District Development Commissioner directed that the price control committee already constituted shall carry out checking of the rate lists of food items, fruits and eatables etc. so as to ensure that quality stuff is sold as per price list.
A team comprising of AD CAPD Samba, AC Legal Metrology, EO MC concerned, SHO concerned and Food Inspector has been constituted to check quality of food items. In rural areas, the monitoring will be done by a committee comprising of Naib Tehsildar concerned, SHO, Food Inspector, TSO and representatives of Legal Metrology.
He also directed the Executive Engineer, PHE to ensure sufficient water supply through water tankers at Utterbehani and Purmandal during the festival days. Besides, he directed Executive Engineer, PDD to ensure that un-interrupted power supply is maintained during Navratras.
The Divisional Officer, Fire and Emergency Services, Samba was directed to deploy a fire tender at Chichi Mata Temple, Utterbehani/Purmandal.
The District Traffic Police was asked to deploy adequate manpower to regulate the traffic at Utterbehani, Purmandal and Chichi Mata Temple Complex as well as in the towns of the district.
Similarly, the ARTO Samba was given the responsibility to ensure adequate number of buses, mini buses to avoid overloading on the routes.
Instructions were also issued to the Executive Officers of Municipal Committee Samba, Vijaypur, Ramgarh and Bari Brahmana to ensure proper sanitation in the towns in general and premises of religious places in particular. It was also decided that adequate measures for security in and around these religious places shall be made.
Likewise, Chief Medical Officer was asked to make all arrangements for first aid and medical care at Chichi Mata Temple and Purmandal, Ghagwal and Dwarkapuri. He was asked to make available ambulance alongwith para medical staff at all these places.
The meeting also discussed the security issues and directions were issued to Police Department for necessary arrangements and deployment of force at important point
The Addl. Superintendent of Police assured that all possible measures and steps shall be taken by the District Police for safety and security of public during the Navratra days and fairs at these places.
Among others ADDC Samba Vivek Sharma, ADC Samba, Inderjeet, Addl. SP Suram Singh, ACR Samba M.Y Malik, representatives from religious organisations besides officers from various departments attended the meeting.
