JAMMU: To create awareness among the children regarding environment and saving of natural resources, tree plantation drive under the programme ‘Van Mahotsav’ by NCC Girls/Boys Junior Division was organised at APS Miran Sahib.
Chief Guest,. Vijaylakshmi Bali, the first lady of Brigade Chairperson FWO inaugurated the ceremony and planted tree to spread the message ‘Save the Earth’. She called upon the students to take up the responsibility of planting saplings to conserve the resources and create a healthy-green environment.
Besides plantation, students of class 9th and 10th gave a message to protect the environment through Mime.
Slogans like ‘ Each one Plant one’ and ‘Grow More Trees’ were displayed. The medicinal value of the trees and plants were highlighted by the Principal. All the students of the school took a pledge to protect environment and also adopted saplings planted by them.
In all, hundred saplings were planted by the students on the sprawling acres of the campus.
Vijaylakshmi appreciated the efforts of Principal, ANO’s and the students and the programme concluded with the distribution of refreshments to all the participants.
