Dear Editor,
Although traffic volume is increasing day by day all over the country and the fact can not be denied that in our Jammu city, traffic volume has attained a rising level also. Bue to this growth of vehicular traffic, jams at various junctions/ stretches have become a routine process.
No doubt, the system for regulating the traffic has also been improved by installing signal lights in addition to deployment of police personnel by the department at important junctions/crossings since the last few years but no system is successful without co-operation of users.
For a user, there are some responsibilities/duties towards traffic system to abide by for a safe and comfortable driving. It is often noticed that some people do not wait for right signal to move and cross the junctions ignoring the system which may be cause of accidents and further when signal is ‘on’ for you to move, please move caring for the followers so that optimum use of the designed time can be made for clearing maximum number of vehicles without wasting the limited time of seconds.
Taking as an awareness campaign, it is my appeal to my brothers, sisters, friends etc. to please cooperate that if we can wait for hours in jams, we should bear with to wait for few seconds at signals also.
