Apni Party committed for women empowerment: Bukhari

JAMMU: Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday said his party is committed to the social, educational and political empowerment of women in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Women empowerment is our top priority. They are a major section of the society that remained neglected for decades. Apni Party has provided ample space and representation to the women to highlight their issues and get them redressed from the platform of this party,” said Altaf Bukhari here at Apni Party Jammu Headquarters.
On this occasion, dozens of women from Samba district joined the Apni Party in presence of Bukhari.
While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, he expressed hope that their joining would strengthen the party at the grass root level.
He congratulated the women wing of Jammu province for their team work and asked them to work at the ground level among the women in every nook and corner of Jammu province to address the issues being confronted by the women.
He said that “The women have played a very important role in every field. However, we think that they need social, educational, and political empowerment in J&K and their empowerment will help them to upgrade their living standard.”
He said that “The Apni Party believes in equality in society. Therefore, we have decided to enhance the marriage assistance of the poor girls at the time of their marriage up to Rs 1 lakh, and this amount would be released within 1 month of their marriage.”
He said that the widow pension scheme/old age pension/handicapped would be increased up to Rs 5000 per month from Rs 1000, four free cooking gas cylinders per year to the poor families if the Apni Party forms the next Govt.
He also highlighted various other social security schemes which would be launched by the Apni Party if it forms the Govt in J&K.
“The women equally shouldered responsibility with the men and they deserved to be provided all the benefits from the Govt so that they get free of cost education and health care facility from their childhood,” he said.
Meanwhile, he announced the district team of women wing for Samba district. The newly nominated members include Prinyanka Mangotra as District President Samba, Kamlesh Kumar and Parmjeet Kour as District Vice Presidents of Samba District.
Provincial Vice President, Jammu, Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, District President, Samba, Raman Thappa, Provincial Secretary/Urban Jammu District President, Dr Rohit Gupta, J&K Apni Trade Union, President, Ajaz Kazmi, District President Legal Cell, Samba, Adv Sahil Bharti, Adv Lovely Mangol, , Provincial President Women Wing, Jammu, Pavneet Kour and others were present.
