Anti-drugs drive to be enhanced in Rajouri – Poonch: DIG Ashok Kumar Atri

RAJOURI: Terming the drugs racket in border town Rajouri as a major challenge for police , Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rajouri – Poonch Range, Ashok Kumar Atri on Friday said that the working of anti – drugs squad will be geared up in the upcoming days so as to pace up the drive against drugs.
In a press statement DIG A.K Atri , said that for the last few months several major recoveries of drugs has been made by Rajouri police which include recovcery of 700 grams heroine from Thanamandi , 1,140 intoxicant capsules from ITI Mohalla and many other recoveries from four persons in Kallar Chowk. He said that the anti drugs drive will further be paced up in the town as usage of drugs has emeregd as a major challenge for police and its eradication is on the prioriy of police. DIG also added that after formulating a special anti – drugs squad police is going to strengthen it further by pushing more man power in it and some officers of police have been assigned the task to work only under anti drugs drive.
Atri also appealed different sections of society to cooperate with police for uprooting the menace of drugs from the society.
