JAMMU: Ansh Chopra shall be competing for twin titles after he made it to the finals of both billiards and snooker in the Sub-Junior category in the ongoing State Billiards and Snooker Championships, organised by J and K Billiards and Snooker Association, at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here on Thursday.
In snooker final, Ansh shall take on Vasu Gupta while in billiards title clash he shall face Sanand Sharma.
Earlier, in the snooker semifinals, Ansh defeated Aman Choudhary 3-1 (49-14, 36-39, 67-27, 77-34) while Vasu had already made it to the final beating Furkan Wani 3-1 (33-51, 55-27, 66-39, 57-31). Similarly, in billiards semifinals, decided today, Ansh Chopra beat Basit Wani 2-0 (50-47, 50-40) and Sanand Sharma trounced Vasu Gupta in similar manners 2-0 (50-49, 50-30).
Preliminary Round: Billiards: Ansh Chopra beat Pankaj Kumar 2-1 (53-44, 49-52,52-47); Basit Wani defeated Umang Gupta 2-0 (51-17, 52-26); Ankit Gupta blanked Arjun Katal 2-0 (51-34, 51-28); Umang Gupta downed Sunny Gupta (39-50, 50-28, 51-24); Vasu Gupta blanked Sankalp Soni 2-0 (50-48, 50-41); Sanand Sharma trounced Akhil Gupta 2-0 (51-29, 52-26); Ansh Chpra outplayed Aman Choudhary 2-0 (50-46, 51-45).
