JAMMU: Police has busted a racket of forged gun licenses in Jammu and recovered 435 of them. A tip-off was received about Tirath Singh, who owns several gun outlets in Jammu, allegedly storing fake gun licenses in an under-construction building, a police spokesperson said.
Based on the input, the police raided the building at Gadigarh near Harward college and a bag containing 435 forged gun licenses was recovered along with some other documents, he said.
A case was registered at the Satwari Police Station in the matter and investigation set into motion, he added. After this, the remaining links in this case will be investigated.
The police is currently busy in separating the licenses to ascertain that how many are from which district and verify their genuineness. At present no one has been arrested. FIR 177/24 has been registered at Police Station Satwari.
