Zulfkar lays foundation of amusement park

RAJOURI: The Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Information, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali on Thursday laid foundation stone of amusement park at Kotranka in Rajouri District.
District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, SSP Yougal Manhas, ACD Boor Alam, CEO Rajouri Department Authority and other District and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
The amusement park, a long pending demand of the people of the district, would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 5.88 crores by Rural Development Department in convergence with Rajouri Development Authority. It would include recreational facilities for the children, interconnecting paths, water fountains and traditional water bodies.
“Koteranka-Khawas road would be completed at an expenditure of Rs 76 crore”, Zulfkar said during a public meeting adding Rs. 800 crore projects under different sectors like tourism, education, rural development, power and public health engineering sectors have been taken up and would be completed within the stipulated time.
The minister said that these projects on their completion would benefit thousands of souls living in these far off areas and boost the development scenario of the district.
Meanwhile, an impressive and colourful cultural programme was organized today in the Conference Hall of PWD Dak Bungalow by the Cultural Wing, Department of Information and Public Relations Jammu.
Zulfkar appreciated the performances and said that such programmes provide a platform to the artists to exhibit their talent and also help to promote our rich cultural heritage.
