REASI: A meeting on ‘Action Plan for Digitalisation of Cable Network’ of Reasi District was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi-Shiv Kumar Gupta.
By focusing our attention, we would be in a much better position to complete digitisation in a faster and effective manner,” Gupta said adding that cable operators would continue to play a critical role in the digitisation process. “Every month, we will monitor the progress and the challenges of how are we going about it,” Gupta added”.
The total number of cable connections in Reasi District is around 2,470 which are provided by three cable operators informed DIO-Parvinder Kour. She added that everyone needs to collaborate rightly and to be patient. The Government of India had passed an Ordinance, mandating the digitisation of the cable services in the country. The amendment, which was made in the section 9 of the Cable TV Networks Ordinance, 1995, was an attempt to improve the quality of cable TV and push the scope for more cable TV channels in the country. Post digitisation, viewers can access digital content and services through a Set-Top Box (STB) or in the IPTV mode.
ADC has asked the people that if they have any complaints about the content, quality, distribution or pricing of cable network they can contact Office of District Magistrate or District Information Center Reasi.
