SR College holds seminar for IAS aspirants

JAMMU: The SR College of Competitions conducted a workshop on General Studies for the aspirants preparing for the 2021 Civil Services examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission and the JK PSC.
The resource person dealt with the issues ranging from the very nature of the exam, structure, stages and the strategy to prepare for the Preliminary test, mains exam and finally for the interview.
Gautam Pandey, an expert in subjects like ethics, aptitude and integrity, international relations, internal security, governance and social justice elaborated a detailed strategy to prepare for all the four papers of General Studies. He also guided the students about CSAT, Essay paper and the Public administration Optional.
Gautam laid stress on components of general studies to be taken up first, focus areas common to Prelims and Mains, time management and the importance of test series.
He also cautioned the students about negative marking in the prelims.
The college has been guiding students since 2000 in the field of civil services and a number of students coached by the college have made their entry into the coveted IAS,IPS,IRS, IFS,KAS,KPS and many other services. The college has also started a test series for Prelims 2021 containing 12 sectional and 8 full mock tests each of GS & CSAT and a comprehensive test series for Mains is going to start from 10th of January 2021.
“The college has been conducting such Workshops for the benefit of students preparing for these prestigious exams and the response has been overwhelming. In a three hour long session, the aspirants raised various queries especially the sources of material required to crack the exam. For the outstation candidates, an online workshop was also conducted yesterday” informed Rachna Koul, Office Coordinator.
