Samba, Mansar Road in dilapidated condition

Dear Editor,
Samba to Mansar Road upto Battal Junction/National Highway is hardly 28 Km from Samba which connects the Udhampur as well as Billawar Districts via Mansar. This is not only its connectivity but also to other important places, such as Katra, Sukrala Mata, Ramkot and other important places.  However, it is regretted to state that large number of public transport and private vehicles,  including tourists buses for Mansar Lake and for Mata Vaishno Devi, daily ply on the road but the condition of the road, is so bad that there are existing number of big cuts/depression and pot holes on road surface, moreover muddy strips have accumulated on the road surface, due to land slides, at Kali and Papped More, by which the vehicles can slip to deep Nalla, specially at the time of rains.
The department maintaining the road PWD or other agency does not bother for the lives of people who are plying the vehicles daily. This road is so risky that it has really became havoc. The demand of the public, regarding improvement and developing of this important road, be brought to the notice of concerned authorities for safer travel of people and to avoid accidents.
